Do you feel responsible for everything and everyone?...

...but you don’t take care of your own Self? Ever wonder why you do this? Chances are… you are acting co-dependently when you feel responsible for “everything and everyone else,” but are confused or reluctant about the idea of just taking responsibility for your own life.

Am I co-dependent? You are if you have allowed someone else’s behavior to affect you so much that you’ve become obsessed with controlling and trying to change that other person’s behavior. This can be especially true for those of you emotionally involved with someone addicted to drugs and/or alcohol.

“I’m always helping and showing up for everyone else! When is it my turn?” The very simple answer is: when you decide to stop skipping your turn.

The major pitfall here is that trying to control anything or anyone outside of you never works! Co-dependent behaviors are unhealthy and personally very self destructive. You are abandoning yourself and your own care through your obsession over someone or something else. You may repeatedly experience failure, self doubt and poor self esteem. Your all-consuming attention toward another leads to feelings of anger, guilt, resentment, shame, and grief.

Are you in a co-dependent situation?
Would you like to stop but don’t know how? Call me today.

Co-dependence leads to situations you typically won’t resolve on your own. You need some professional guidance to learn how to effectively deal with this problem.
